Ingredients
- 500g bread flour
- 10g instant yeast
- 80g butter or vegan block
- 60g caster sugar
- 330ml lukewarm water
- 3 teaspoon cinnamon
- 75g dark chocolate, cut into small pieces
- 75g dried prunes, cut into chunks
Method
- Place flour, yeast, butter, sugar, cinnamon and water in a mixing bowl.
- Mix on medium speed for 5 minutes.
- Cover the bowl and allow to rest for 20 minutes.
- Add prunes and chocolate to the dough.
- Mix on slow for 5 minutes.
- Turn the dough out on to a floured surface and knead by hand for a few minutes to ensure the chocolate and prunes are evenly distributed.
- Return the dough to the bowl, cover and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
- Prepare a loaf tin by buttering the inside.
- Shape the dough and place it in the loaf tin, cover and allow it to rise until doubled in size.
- Bake for 45 minutes at 190c.
- Turn out on to a cooling rack and allow to cool completely before slicing.
- Toast the bread and serve with salty butter.
